Good Day, Seattle.

Headed back on the ferry as I write. I must say I much appreciate the free wifi made available to me.
I'm not sure that our trip could have been any better. Torrie won enough money to pay for the hotel, the ferry, food, his purchases at the mall and STILL come out with money to put on his credit card.
I have no money. HOWEVER, I do have lots of new pretty things for a fraction of its regular price so I am pleased. The Tulalip outlet mall is seriously rad. I got an Adidas hat, three shirts, two pairs of shorts, a dress, a purse and a pair of shoes for probably 180 dollars. The shoes are very nice and teachery as are 2/3 tops. The hat will be good when I'm working at camp in a couple weeks.
It's weird, I start work in like a week and a half. I am very excited and also nervous. Which I imagine is pretty standard when beginning a new job. Especially one that pays more than I have ever made.
The moral of this post though, is if one is in Seattle or there abouts, go to the outlet mall and stay at the resort casino. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Also become a rewards member as they give you discounts. And discounts are nice.

Green Backs

So, the boy won money. Lots of money. As in 450 cards sold wholesale kind of money.
I am both happy for him and incredibly jealous. I told him he is lucky I like him or else I would steal the money and bus back home tonight. Or even fly home. I could fly home and still come out on top. If I stole his money. Which I did not.
In other news this hotel room is amazing. I love king sized beds. A lot.

Oh Silly Me

On our way to the outlet malls this fine (it is actually so nice out right now) morning. Turns out that we are not taking the Clipper ferry as I previously assumed. Apparently I was actually quite silly for thinking we were taking the Clipper as we are in fact not actually going into Seattle.
These are important lessons I am learning.
I've been taking pictures like a tourist today and not someone who has taken BC ferries 800 times. But I'm hoping that I get a couple really good shots for some new cards. I got into a few shops yesterday! Seems like this might actually be something that makes me some money.
Took a picture of a float plane that my dad loves. He wanted to get a print. Little does HE know I'm going to get him the picture on a canvas for Fathers day. Or... Rather, I'm going to order the print and my brother (who has a steady income) will pay for it.
Got an email with information about my summer job too. So that will be nice, pay off my credit card and all that.
Well that is my Seattle update. I suppose I shouldn't even say Seattle. But Tulalip is hard for me to say.

Postcards from the bed

Well, I'd like to begin this post by congratulating myself for the extra clever title I came up with just now, on the spot. I'm sure no one has ever used the Carrie Fisher (She is so much more than just Princess Leia, okay?!) film to provide inspiration for a play on words. Nope, just me. The most clever in the land.
Sometimes you just have to congratulate yourself on those trivial triumphs.
So, other than making reference to Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine, why am I writing this post? Mostly because I am actually sitting on my bed, surrounded by postcards. I bought many a post card in Vegas to be sent away upon return to Canada (cheaper that way) to my posse of postcard lovers. Actually I'm not really sure if people like me sending them postcards, but I like doing it SO! Onward and upward!
What happened when I returned from my trip to sin city was that I began my practicum. And my practicum became my number one priority while my poor pretty postcards sat abandoned upon my shelf.
So, what better time than now to write my friends? Friends who I just spent the weekend with?
No better time than now.
I have some other news to report. I got a job! YAY FOR EMPLOYMENT!
Employment that doesn't begin for a month so YAY FOR TIME OFF!
It is amazing how quickly I get into the routine of having time for myself. Already I've caught up on television, visited my friends and began watching The Wire. Which is a damn fine television series if I do say so myself. Damn fine. Also damn depressing. I highly suggest watching it if you are in a very stable emotional state and you do not happen to get too attached to sympathetic characters. You should probably read the newby edition of "What's Alan Watching?" as you go along.
Strong blog. He points out a lot of things I miss due to the tears blocking my vision. Perhaps my emotional state isn't solid enough to be experiencing "The Wire". I tried to take a mental health break after the first season. Then I realized that shaw exo on demand has the whole series online for free. Season two here I come! I've learned my lesson though, I refuse to get attached to any loveable characters. Nope, I will not.
Because I have time off I have time to plan my next adventure(s). This is both wonderful and dangerous because I have a tendency to become single minded. My dear, sweet, patient boyfriend has already told me if I become too attached to the idea of going to Disneyland in December (that's right) before the plan is plausible he will begin to veto the topic in daily conversation. I both hate and understand his reasoning.
It really isn't my fault though as my friends and colleagues are the ones that are planning it. How can I not hop on the bandwagon when they talk about it in front of me? I am not strong willed when it comes to all things Disney.
I will be going to Seattle in two weeks which is very exciting. I wish I had more cash, but I'm excited regardless. Torrie and I will be staying at the Tulalip Resort and Casino, which is fannnnncy. Reminds me of a newer, smaller version of Caesars Palace. Just... no statues and more totem poles..... Okay, mostly they are just both super nice and I feel like a queen in the king sized bed.
That is all I really have for the world tonight. There is more Wire to watch before the night is through and the streets of Baltimore are calling.
